TOP 100 Wines + Chefs
Mark your calendars for November 21st, when at the Top 100 Wines + Chefs event, we will collectively taste at least one hundred and fifty laureates of the "Wine of the Year 2026" competition – gold and silver champagnes, whites, reds, and fortified wines from all over the world! Ready? There will be no shortage of masterclasses led by Andrew Jefford, Aigars Nords, and other luminaries. There will be delicacies from Latvia's best chefs, shows, and great music! Not to mention special dinners, which we will announce a bit later!
Clear some space in your calendars right now for the 2027 Bubble Parade, taking place at Hanzas Perons on April 3, 2027!
And please don't forget that this year we will be hosting our third Riga Whisky & Friends festival at the Riga Circus (September 12), as well as the Pink Noise Riga music festival in April and November!
Riga – The Capital of Champagne!
When we started the festival back in 2012 with a Champagne masterclass by Peter Liem and Aigars Nords for a handful of Riga snobs, we had no idea that Riga Wine & Champagne would become such a significant champagne culture event – one that honors bubbles, chefs, sommeliers, gourmands, wine lovers, and gastronomy at such a high level outside of Champagne and France!
As the years have gone by, the event has become a destination for Baltic and European gourmands, and Riga (at least in the spring) has become the uncrowned capital of Champagne! The Riga Wine & Champagne festival's "Bubble Parade" is the most important champagne celebration in the Baltics – if you love bubbles, you must be in Riga in the spring!
The program for the annual "Bubble Parade" has expanded to a week-long format and is more spectacular than ever. We pop the corks on hundreds of excellent bubbles, continue to develop the Chefs + Champagne symposium where Latvia's best chefs and sommeliers "marry" champagne with gastronomy, and we host Champagne greats, cult winemakers, and sages like Peter Liem.

We are proud of the wine lovers' guide created by Riga Wine & Champagne – the "Latvian Wine of the Year" competition, which we established together with Michael Schuster in 2014. The annual guide, chaired by Andrew Jefford, awards bronze, silver, and gold medals every year to world wines imported into Latvia, and has become one of the most sought-after points of reference for Latvian wine lovers.
Every autumn, we present the "Wine of the Year" laureates – silver and gold medalists – at TOP 100 Wines + Chefs, or the Grand Wine Parade. This has become the most anticipated event of the year for many wine lovers, offering the chance to taste the best champagnes, white wines, red wines, and fortified wines, while participating in masterclasses and "dates" with winemakers and the jury.
What else? In 2018, we also created the Baltic Wine & Drinks Awards and Top 50 Baltic Sommeliers. In collaboration with Liebherr, these annual awards highlight the best and most wine-lover-friendly wine restaurants and bars—in other words, the best wine lists in Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia.
And that's not all... in 2024, we began our adventures in the "non-wine" field. The Riga Whisky & Friends festival will delight us for its third season at the Riga Circus!

Our founder, Aigars Nords, was the first in the Baltics to obtain the highest WSET diploma in wine studies. He has traveled to countless wine regions around the world, finished the wine marathon in Médoc, and published the all time best-selling book on wine in the Latvian language – “Vīns un Nords” (Wine and Nords)!
